I posted on The Woman in Red for the 30 Years on Project, it is not a good film, mostly because it is creepy old guys hitting on young women, I must have blanked on the "Jewishness", guess I better look back at that post. Young Frankenstein is the best Wilder outside of Wonka. I think you are missing a treat skipping the musical. Maybe a family night is ahead for you. We will miss him. Since I don't care too much for musicals, who can blame me? For me, Wilder's shining moments of comedy are THE PRODUCERS and YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN. His material with Richard Pryor never quite worked for me the way it did with the rest of world. In the 1980s, I enjoyed him in THE WOMAN IN RED, though over the years, the humor in that movie became just a little too "Jewish" for me, and I'M Jewish!<br /><br />One of these days, I'll have to find his 1977 film, THE WORLD'S GREATEST LOVER.
