If it was the only pantomime in the show, the dinner scene might have worked better for me. I think I was overstuffed with this kind of moment. I wanted to be more invested with it but I wasnt. This would be like Leon minus Natalie Portman. Saw at Laemmle in Pasadena and this dude sitting at end of my row live tweeted during it which was a first (he asked if I minded and i said no but was like really?) I liked the minimalism of it. Been thinking about revisiting it. And REC I loved when I saw it years ago. I’m not a big fan of found footage but this is easily the best in my opinion. They’ve made a handful of sequels that are not good and the 2nd I feel ruins the first movie’s mystique. I did see the remake and it was awful. That thing at the end I spent days after trying to figure out how they did it. I wished there had been a BTS featurette on the DVD to give me a glimpse. Or maybe it’s best there wasn’t. I remember really liking this in the 80s even to the point I can remember almost buying a copy on VHS. But I can’t recall the last time I had seen it. This was first time on big screen for me. I've very satisfying to have my work read and enjoyed by someone who understands the power and the passion movies can have over the course and events of one's life. Those who take the movies into their heart and actually "feel" them know what I'm talking about, and they have stories of their own, I'm sure. It's been a pleasure to share my stories of 25 years of my life and in the movies in three volumes. Thanks again for all your support, my friend. The music chosen was definitely familiar to me and brought back many good memories. It was interesting to see how the Kelsey Grammar character (uptight, middle aged, comfortable) transformed by interacting with diverse individuals (young hippies who led a dynamic quest for realism) that challenged his fixed mindset in favor of a growth mindset. Greg Laurie continues in ministry to this day. Chuck Smith did too, until his death. (But Calvary Chapel lives on in many locations to this day). Lonnie Frisbee passed some years back, and his wife (Connie?) is in her 70s but stays out of the limelight, living a quiet life. I really loved this film for its energy, accurate depiction, and the transformations that came about.
